Moorhead Repaving

NUSoBo members are actively engaging with the Transportation and Mobility Department of the City of Boulder to make “light touch” design changes to Moorhead Avenue that will improve safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and those using transit. Group members have recommended the addition of several crosswalks, lane narrowing, and pedestrian refuges at crossings. We have also raised concerns that eliminating center striping, which is often promoted as a traffic calming measure, might have the opposite effect in this case.

We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with City staff on the design of this project and look forward to completion of the repaving now underway and evaluation of the resulting speeds and traffic behavior on Moorhead.
