Martin Acres Herb Share

If you live in Martin Acres, you may remember “The Sunflower Conspiracy” from the summer of 2023. Well, this is sort of like that but with herbs. Here’s how it works: Each neighbor on the block grows a brightly-colored pot of a different culinary herb. These pots are set near the sidewalk of each home so that you and your neighbors can easily harvest a bit of whatever herb you need simply by visiting the right house. The pots can stay out even in the winter, when they’ll add a bit of color and an enduring sense of community.

To get started, take this form to your neighbors and have them sign up to plant some herbs. Then pick a weekend or two on which you will paint your pots. Borrow our supply of acrylic paints and brushes and paint your pots. Fill it with potting soil, plant your herbs, and set the pots by the curb.
